Clem Bowman has had extensive private and public sector experience in the development and commercialization of new technologies, providing a foundation for his active role as Chairman of the Board of ProGrid Ventures Inc.

Before starting ProGrid, Dr. Bowman was vice-president, Esso Petroleum Canada, founding chairman, Alberta Oil Sands Technology and Research Authority (AOSTRA), president, Alberta Research Council (ARC), and research manager, Syncrude Canada Limited.

He has also served in an executive role with the Canadian Research Management Association, the Chemical Institute of Canada and the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering, and an active contributor to the Canadian Academy of Engineering (CAE)
